Meet Dr.Nadia Horton
DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Nadia Horton, DNP, FNP‑BC, PMHNP‑BC, is a New England native born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island—a city shaped by cultural diversity and community resilience. Growing up in an underserved neighborhood, she gained firsthand insight into the socioeconomic and health disparities faced in inner cities. Rather than be limited by those barriers, she was able to take her experiences and develop the foundation needed to deliver mental health care that is compassionate, culturally attuned, and centered on real life experiences.

With over 15 years in the medical field, Dr. Horton's clinical background includes: critical care, spinal cord injuries, dialysis, long term care, geriatrics, primary care and and psychiatry. Dr. Horton began her nursing journey at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Old Dominion University, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Driven by a deep commitment to mental health and awareness, she obtained a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Cincinnati, where she also earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). She is dual board-certified by the ANCC as both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

At Eccentric Minds Health & Wellness, Dr. Horton provides services including individual talk therapy, medical marijuana consultations, and complimentary therapy in the Zen Room. She works closely with clients to explore healing from within—addressing emotional, mental, and physical wellness through individualized care. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or simply seeking balance, Dr. Horton offers guidance with compassion and expertise.

When she’s not supporting patients, Dr. Horton enjoys traveling, music, and quality time with her family. Her down-to-earth approach is what makes Eccentric Minds a place of refuge and growth for those ready to heal.
